2005, 33.5" x 33.5", oil on panel

I am powerless to describe the source of the images I create. Only in retrospect, can I discover their meaning as it pertains to me within the context of the modern world.

I am, after all, a culmination of genetic material, an observer and filter of all that has passed before me. The paintings show me this. They are emotional, unguarded, and non-conceptual. They exist as an expression of self, and so, of all my memories of my ancestors and the cultures which bore them.

Journeys, travails and triumphs are glimpsed within these paintings. They begin to speak in an archetypal language—a migration of cultures and beliefs common to all of us.
